Chief Financial Officer
Mechteld Fletcher (1972) has been the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Risk officer at the Customs Administration of the Netherlands since 1 March 2021.
An effective, efficient and financially healthy Customs organisation, that’s my goal. Not only important for us as an organisation but also for the Netherlands and Europe. Hand in hand with the business I tackle the challenges in the here and now and likewise work on changes and improvements for our future.
Mechteld Fletcher held various positions at the Ministry of Justice and Security from 2016 to 2020, including Organisation and Policy Developer for the Owners Support Department and Deputy Programme Director of the Dutch Legal Aid Department. Previously, she was a Deputy Director of Finance and Control at the Immigration and Naturalisation Service. She started her career as Inspector of the Budget in the Inspectorate of the Budget at the Ministry of Finance. Mechteld read Psychology at Radboud University and Public Administration at the University of Amsterdam.
